The Monobe River flowing between the Kochi University of Technology and Tosayamada is a great place for spotting a diversity of birds. Shorebirds, herons, grebes, egrets, ducks, kingfishers, cormorants and morhen can all been seen along the shoreline.  Sitting along the river near below the dam is a hotspot for birds of all kinds.
