Cano Palma -Day 15

Despite the clouds and rain we headed over to Tortuguero National Park for another morning of bird banding. The weather was set on stopping us from catching anything but we were determined to try. An hour break in the rainfall allowed us to catch a single Swainsons Thrush and a hummingbird which was let go unbanded.

We did get to see White-fronted Parrots, Tropical Kingbirds, Neotropical Cormorants, American Coots and a Ringed Kingfisher but the weather sent us home early and unlucky.

An afternoon bird walk across the canal was very informative since the stations birding experts Ian, Peter and Aidan were showing us around town a bit.
